Ok, so I went out and bought me a wacom graphire4 (A6 active area) the day before yesterday. I haven't done much with it yet, except for using 's image of my wife (you can find it here [link] ) as an underlay (a process called "personalization" in the tablet's manual). I have to say, I really like this image!

Of course, that doesn't actually count as doing something "with" the tablet, as it is more like doing something "on" the tablet, but I' will eventually find time to do work with it as well. I really hope that this gadget acts as an incentive for me to improve on my awful linearting skills (or lack thereof)

In other news, the lamplight for my bedroom ceiling is finally done after almost 3 years. All in all, I'd say that I've spent some 50-60 hours on this thing from concept to creation, spread out like this:

-Research for the image references: 20-30 hrs
-Research and purchase of materials (textile, colors, wire for the frame, threads, etc): 5 hrs
-Drawing: 5 hrs
-Construction of the wireframe: 5 hrs (3 failed attempts)
-Fitting the textile on the wireframe: 10 hrs (4 failed attempts)
-Adding details and finishing touches: 5 hrs (redid those 3-4 times)

There are WiP images in my gallery, which will be scrapped in due time, as soon as I put the lamp up in my bedroom and take a few pictures of it.
